This week we talk about the new movie trailers that were released during the Super Bowl as well as the days following it, including Solo: A Star Wars Story and Avengers: Infinity War.  We talk a little bit about Deadpool 2 and the movie poster Ryan Reynolds posted.  We get into the summer movie release list as well.  We discuss space travel and the launch of the Rocket X Falcon Heavy.  We set the rules for our first super team competition, as proposed by one of our listeners, and will present our teams next episode.  All this plus the alcohol and our typical ramblings you’ve come to expect.

Episode 65 has been published!!

It’s that time of year again.  Time for Russ to pack up his most precious belongings (comic books, video games, etc) and make the trek to Florida for the Bay Area Renaissance Festival (BARF).  This week we talk about several trailers that have dropped or will be coming out soon, as well as some of our thoughts on those movies.  We also talk about some of the things we’re hearing about the upcoming Black Panther movie.  We take a look back at one of the first Marvel properties to get a movie series, Blade.

This week we get into a discussion about remakes, reboots, and reimaginings of movies and how there are a lot of people against doing this. We also talk about a strongly rumored remake which is supposed to be in the early stages of being made. We also talk sequels, a movie coming back to the theaters after 35 years, Blu-ray releases, Star Trek Discovery. We also take a few minutes to talk about how the “king” is dead, or at least seriously de-throned.

Episode 62 has been published!!

This week we go gold. We talk about the Golden Globe awards that just took place. We also discuss the movie Kingsman: The Golden Circle, that came out last year and recently on Blu-ray and DVD. We get into some of the Flashpoint Batman comics as well as some talk about other Flashpoint and What If types of comics. Several times we’ve discussed the ages of comic characters and this week we discuss one time that there was a definitive age given to a character, Jean Grey, by putting a birth and death year on her tombstone after the Dark Phoenix saga concluded.

This week we say goodbye to 2017 by discussing a bunch of nerdy topics.  We talk about video games, upcoming comic book milestones, the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D show, and the Netflix movie Bright, including discussing some of the implications of having magical/mythical creatures living in the modern world would be.  To wrap up the holiday season we also talk a little bit about our favorite holiday movies.  We would like to wish everyone a happy and safe new year.  Slainte!!

Hop-py holidays!!  This week we give our first, spoiler free, impressions of Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi.  We also talk about some trailers we’ve seen.  The Disney/Fox deal and where we see things going for properties like the X-Men.  We also have our usual alcohol and nonsense.  We here at the Nerds With Alcohol Show would like to wish everyone a very happy and safe holiday season!  Slainte!!

Episode 55 has been published and should be available this afternoon.  This week we get into what we have on our Nerd Bucket List.  We also talk about the Justice League movie (non-spoiler), as well has discussing the return of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on Dec 1st and the new Hulu exclusive Marvel show, The Runaways.  All this plus the usual alcohol reviews and lots of turkey talk on this post Thanksgiving show.
