Ladies and Gentlenerds, this is it, our first on location show. We will be recording live at the B Nektar taproom and you are all invited to this special show. We’ll be talking with one of B Nektar’s owners and having a very nerdy time. Now’s your chance to see how the magic is done, or at least watch us nerd out while drinking at one of our favorite places. You can see the event on Facebook by clicking here; Nerds With Alcohol LIVE at B Nektar.
This episode finds us getting so into the discussions we’re having that we actually forget to talk about what we’re drinking for a bit. We talk about the Animaniacs cartoon and the Fables comic book, as well as last weekend’s great Stone Clover show and the beer named after them, Stone Clover Stout, and as always so much more.
This episode finds Russ back back in the Nerd Cave as he returns from his sojourn to the Sunshine State. We talk about the Anita Blake novels in the Books segment. Discuss our favorite animated Disney movies in the animation section. Then wrap everything up by talking about Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition in the Table Top Games segment. All this and a lot of other discussions, including the new trailers for Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Thor: Ragnorok.
This week we had a couple of technical issues but overall everything turned out alright. This week we talk Video Games, Books, and Animation. In Video Games we talk about our favorite “old” game systems, as well as what the overall most popular game systems were. In books we talk about the novelization of comic book storylines. Finishing the episode off we talk about Justice League Dark in animation.
In this episode we talk about TV, specifically the new comedy show, Powerless. Set in the DC Universe the show deals with normal people working for a division of Wayne Enterprises. From there we move on to discussing Movies, where we talk Logan. THERE ARE SPOILERS! You have been warned. Our last topic this week is Video Games, and we talk about the new PS4 only game, Horizon Zero Dawn. As always there is alcohol, tangents, and more.
This episode we welcome the lovely and talented Alexandra to the show as a special guest. We kick things off as usual with what’s been going on in the last week, followed by talk about what we are drinking, then on to the Nerd Commandment of the week. After that we get into the main part of the show where in the Comics segment we discuss the target.. er… sidekick characters, particularly Robin. From there we move on to TV and talk about the SyFy show Warehouse 13. We finish the show off with Movies, where we talk a little about the new Logan film (spoiler free), as well as some nerdy films coming out in the next couple of months.
This episode we discuss the “Nerd Commandments” we found online during the Anything Goes segment. We move on to Comics where we talk about Marvel Unlimited as well as the first X-Men comics and the newer Vader comic. TV returns to the line-up for our last segment and we talk about reality shows, specifically the Syfy show Faceoff.
This week we talk about Magic The Gathering (aka Paper Crack) in Table Top Games. Anything Goes finds us discussing our early musical influences. Last but certainly not least Comics comes back to the line up and has us reminiscing about what titles/issues got us into comics. And as always we talk booze, events, and more.
This week we are talking about the Dungeons & Dragons cartoon from the ’80s in the animation segment. We move on and talk about some of our favorite board games from when we were kids and then about what looks like a resurgence of board and card games going on now. To finish things off we bring back the Anything Goes segment where we talk about TV, but not the normal type of topic. We discuss our favorite non nerd-centric TV shows. As always we also talk about booze and some upcoming events.
This week is our first podcast via Skype, since Russ is out of town for a while. There were a few bumps but overall it came out pretty good. We talk about our introduction to TSR novels, including Forgotten Realms and Dragonlance. In animation we discuss our favorite Saturday morning cartoons from when we were kids. In the Table Top Games segment we talk about the World of Darkness games. Please excuse the minor technical issues and enjoy the show.
